How do I check for lightning near the field before practice?
Open the live map and zoom to the field or park. Red markers show the newest strikes, up to 10 minutes old, and Ground mode hides cloud flashes so ground-reaching strikes stand out.
Can coaches and parents get lightning alerts for a sports field?
Set the field as your saved place and turn on Lightning alerts. Nearby alerts for the field use their own alert distance and say how many strikes, how close, and how recent, even before you leave home.
