What Lightning Alerts Live does
Lightning Alerts Live is a mobile lightning and weather awareness app. It helps people see detected lightning strikes, recent storm activity, strike age, strike details, and location-based alerts.
What detected lightning means
Detected lightning means a lightning data provider recorded a lightning signal and made it available to the app. It does not mean every strike is detected, shown instantly, or available in every location.
Strike age, details, intensity, and storm movement
Strike age shows how recently a strike was detected. Strike details can include data such as type and intensity when provider data includes it. Storm movement is understood from recent activity shown on the map.
How alerts work
Location-based alerts notify you when lightning activity is detected near your current area or saved places. Alerts depend on device settings, network availability, provider data, and app delivery systems.
What the app does not guarantee
Lightning Alerts is an awareness tool only. Use it alongside official forecasts, warnings, venue rules, and emergency guidance. Lightning Alerts does not guarantee complete detection, perfect accuracy, instant delivery, uninterrupted availability, or safe conditions. It is not an emergency warning system, life-safety system, or replacement for official weather services.
When to use official forecasts and warnings
Use official forecasts, warnings, venue rules, and emergency guidance before and during weather-sensitive activities. If official guidance conflicts with app information, follow the official guidance.

Lightning Alerts is available for Android on Google Play. The public site marks the App Store option as coming soon.
